During the ongoing T20 World Cup at Newlands, Muneeba Ali led Pakistan’s women’s team to a 70-run victory over Ireland on Wednesday.
Women in Green reached 165 as the star player hit 102 to set up a 70-run win over Ireland, the highest score for the country at a T20 World Cup.
As the sixth woman to score a century in the T20 World Cup’s history, Muneeba garnered praise from cricket greats like Ian Bishop of the West Indies.

With an initial blow from its arch-rival India, Pakistan is back in the tournament. In the recent encounter, Ireland was bowled all out for 95, with Nashra Sandhu taking career-best wickets figures of four for 18 balls.
A total of 101 were made by star player Muneeba and veteran player Nida Dar, who scored 33.
While the opening pair of Amy Hunter and Gaby Lewis tumbled inside the first five overs, youngster Orla Prendergast made 31 and Eimear Richardson made 28 off 17. Pakistan’s Nashra Sandhu then managed to outsmart Orla and Eimear.
In November last year, Ireland beat Women in Green in a T20 series but was outplayed at the recent T20 World Cup.
