According to our correspondence at Storyline, Shah Rukh is the only Indian actor to have been named among the 50 greatest actors of all time.
Among his peers are Tom Hanks, Denzel Washington, Gary Oldman, Michelle Williams, and Christian Bale.
His name is included in the list, citing some of his most notable roles throughout his career. A few examples include Rahul Khanna from Karan Johar’s Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Devdas Mukherji from Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Devdas, Mohan Bhargava from Ashutosh Gowariker’s Swades, and Rizwan Khan from Karan Johar’s My Name is Khan.
The Empire, while praising Khan wrote, “Ms. Marvel’s favorite movie star has a career that has now spanned four decades of near unbroken hits, and a fan base of pretty much billions. You don’t achieve such a thing without outrageous amounts of charisma and absolute mastery of your craft. Comfortable in almost any genre, he has pretty much everything covered.”
Khan’s iconic line from the film Jab Tak Hai Jaan also makes the list, “Everyday life kills us a little. A bomb kills you once.”
On the work front, Khan was most recently seen in a cameo appearance in Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra. As well as Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, the renowned star will also appear in Siddharth Anand’s Pathaan, which stars Deepika Padukone and John Abraham.
A saffron bikini worn by Padukone in the film’s first song, Besharam Rang, recently received flak from religious organizations in India.
