Thanks to the British Council, Pakistani students can now apply for 100 percent more scholarships.
Through the British Council, the Scottish Government offers scholarships to Pakistani women under the Scotland Pakistani Scholarship program.
The additional £500,000 would go towards scholarships, according to Neil Gray, Scotland’s minister for international development.
Girls and women who were affected by the flood will be eligible for twice as many scholarships. By providing scholarships, flood-affected women and girls will be able to pursue higher education.
The Scottish Pakistan Scholarship Scheme offers financial aid to disadvantaged Pakistani females so they can pursue secondary and further education. It is open to all Pakistani universities recognized by the Higher Education Commission.
The Foundation also provides scholarships to young girls in the secondary level (grades 8-12), enabling them to pursue their education despite financial constraints, which is a concern for most Pakistani girls.
By receiving scholarships, women and girls in Pakistan will gain access to education and empowerment.
