Residents of Dubai will soon see robots delivering fresh food to their homes.
Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has partnered with Talabat, a food delivery service, and the Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority (DIEZ).
In Dubai Silicon Oasis, delivery robots named ‘Talabots’ are currently being tested and will initially deliver food to a neighborhood named Cedre Villas.
Initially, the company plans to launch three delivery robots traveling around and delivering food within the gated community. The Cedre Villas is a great place to test the Talabot.
Talabots will take 15 minutes to deliver orders within a 3-kilometer radius of Cedre Shopping Centre.
With the launch of these new little delivery robots, Dubai’s technological advancements will be further enhanced but jobs will be lost.
By 2026, Dubai is also expected to have flying taxis, whose station designs were approved at the World Government Summit 2023.
