On Tuesday, a third Russian was found dead in Odisha, India, making it the third such incident in a fortnight.
According to The Hindu, he was found dead in a ship anchored at Paradip Port in Jagatsinghpur district.
The 51-year-old Sergey was the chief engineer of the vessel, M. B. Aldnah, which was returning to Mumbai from Chittagong Port in Bangladesh via Paradip. He was found dead in his ship’s chamber by the local police at around 4.30 am. The cause of death was not immediately determined.
A probe is underway into the death of the Russian engineer, according to Paradip Port Trust Chairman P. L. Haranand.
In the latter half of December, two Russian tourists, including a lawmaker, were found dead in Rayagada town in southern Odisha.
Odisha police are investigating the deaths of Pavel Antov (65), a lawmaker in Russia, and his friend Vladimir Bidenov (61), who was found dead in his room on December 22.
