The most bizarre way to start a new year. Last year, a man in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) was arrested for scaring people with a werewolf mask on New Years’ Eve.
In Peshawar, a Pakistani man was detained for riding through the streets wearing a werewolf mask on New Year’s Eve.
According to the police report, Asad Khan, a resident of Moti neighborhood, made roaring noises while riding his motorcycle.
He said he was only obeying the government’s mandate to wear a mask amid the Coronavirus pandemic, not trying to scare anyone.
The images of the short man chained to a police officer, still wearing the grotesque mask, caused social media users to howl.
In such an epidemic, perhaps he didn’t want to risk taking a risk. That mask is a foolproof weapon against Covid-19,” one Twitter user said.
People got scared of the dude and didn’t come out on new year during Covid times, everyone stayed safe.”
A third said that the man “was reported to the police by a girl wearing a red riding hood costume.”
Charges against the suspect were not immediately available.
