Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA) has provided parents with access to cameras on school buses so they can monitor their children on the way to and from school.
In the UAE, the SPEA has installed cameras and other safety devices on 2,000 school buses.
Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, a member of the supreme council and ruler of Sharjah, launched the “Your Children Are Safe” initiative.
This initiative has also trained 3,250 bus drivers and supervisors.
Before the pandemic, GPS trackers were installed on buses to allow control and monitoring.
As part of phase two, the school buses are now equipped with cameras.
2,000 tablets have been provided to bus supervisors for storing student data, and parents will have access to school bus cameras to monitor their children.
An official notification has also been sent to all private schools, instructing them to install security cameras and safety devices.
