Buzz Aldrin, the second person to set foot on the moon, married his longtime girlfriend Dr. Anca Faur on Friday, his 93rd birthday.
Anca Faur, executive vice president of Buzz Aldrin Ventures, and Aldrin were married in a private ceremony.
As I celebrate my 93rd birthday, I am pleased to announce that my longtime love Dr. Anca Faur and I have tied the knot,” Aldrin tweeted along with pictures of the two.
We were married in a small private ceremony in Los Angeles and are as excited as teenagers eloping.

In 1996, Faur earned a doctorate in chemical engineering from the University of Pittsburgh, and before joining Buzz Aldrin Ventures, she worked for Union Carbide and Johnson Matthey. Furthermore, she served as the California Hydrogen Business Council’s treasurer.
Three of Aldrin’s previous marriages ended in divorce.
During the Apollo 11 mission, he and Neil Armstrong became the first people to set foot on the Moon, on July 20, 1969. Buzz is also the last surviving member of the historic Appolo Mission.
Michael Collins, who piloted the command module while his crewmates walked on the lunar surface, died in April 2021, and Neil Armstrong died in 2012.
A crater near the Apollo 11 landing site is named after Aldrin, who retired from NASA in 1971.
