The Arrival Of Sri Lankan Students In Pakistan For Higher Education

(STORYLINE ISLAMABAD): Through a difficult selection process students were chosen.

Under the Allama Iqbal, Open University Scholarships for Sri Lankan Students,  26 Sri Lankan students have traveled to Pakistan to enroll in BS, MS, and Ph.D. programs at AIOU a Pakistani university.

The students came to Jinnah International Airport in Karachi and Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore.

Approximately 357 additional Sri Lankan students who were awarded “Allama Iqbal Open University Scholarships for Sri Lankan Students” would reportedly arrive in Pakistan soon.

Meanwhile, 272 Lankan students are enrolled in various disciplines of study at prestigious universities across Pakistan.

Numerous scholarships are part of the extensive educational project known as the “Pakistan-Sri Lanka Higher Education Cooperation Program” (HEC). Scholarships are available in all major disciplines including business studies, engineering, and medicine.

A competitive selection process was used to choose students while taking into consideration their basic eligibility for enrolment in Pakistani public sector universities. The Higher Education Commission’s regional center in Lahore gave the freshly arrived Sri Lankan researchers a warm welcome (HEC).
