BENGALURU: In compliance with a court order, Twitter on Thursday disabled access to the Pakistani government’s account from within India, according to a notification posted on the social networking website. According to the company’s policies, it must withhold all funds in response to a legitimate legal requirement, such as a court order.
According to Reuter’s checks, the @GovtofPakistan account is still open for viewing and participation from nations including the United States and Canada.
Press queries for comment to Twitter and the IT ministries of Pakistan and India did not immediately receive a response.
